Tried to explain to my friend that it wasn't a supercar and had the same engine as a Toyota Camry V6. Still funny to see in this environment.

What is that, an Evora? There's no hard-and-fast distinction between a sports car and a supercar, and to my mind the Evora's certainly shading towards being a supercar. 350 bhp, rear-mid-engined, rear wheel drive, 0-60 in under five seconds.

I lost my shit when I saw one for the first time.

An amazing car to see in person I think.

Only made around 500 of them, so they are pretty rare.

They really have the same engine as a Toyota Camry? I didn't know they shared production. Now I need to research

Proper sports car IMO. Even though the engine comes from a more humble background. No one would argue that a Caterham isn't a sports car because most are powered by more... "plebian" powerplants.

Considering the lightness of it, I would at least consider that a very good sports car, the toyota V6 really doesn't affect my opinion of it. Its a good little engine that supplys enough power for this little car

It's an amazing car dude. I work at a Louts dealer and I promise you it is a very capable machine.

The Evora S is probably the purest sounding car out there. Opinion shared by our Lotus salesman who was a former Porsche GT1 factory driver.

The 2GR-FE is a solid unit buddy.

If memory serves, there are something like 700-800 in the US over the 2010-2013 sales periods. And that's just the US. While numbers aren't high, there have been model years where they have topped 500 in sales worldwide (would assume most of them).

In lotus terms, they're a fat cow though. I agree that it's definitely a high end sports car but in my opinion it would be better if it wasn't 3000 lbs.

A lot of that however is due to US regulations, the same reason why the Alfa 4C is gonna be a several hundred pounds heavier in the US

I might be spoiled, but my reaction was something akin with "Oh look an Evora at Wal Mart."
